Call to Action: Take a Stand for Decent Broadcasting
Last summer the Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) regulation on “fleeting expletives” was “unconstitutionally vague, creating a chilling effect.” The acceptance of harsh profanity paves the way for further indecent broadcasting with little accountability. According to Parents Television Council, “Unless the Obama Administration acts before the April 21 deadline, a three-judge panel in New York City will succeed in nullifying the will of the American people, the Supreme Court and the intent of the U.S. Congress.”
