Pornography and Sex Trafficking

I have met men and women who have escaped from the pornography and strip club industries. They will all tell you that pornography and strip clubs are directly linked to sex trafficking. I’m amazed that every elected official opposes sex trafficking but does absolutely nothing to enforce obscene pornography laws at the state or federal level. If we want to fight sex trafficking, we must first begin by enforcing the laws already on the books.

Ohio’s Community Defense Act (CDA) states that strip bars must close between midnight and six in the morning and prohibits dancers from touching customers in strip bars. Why are these laws being ignored?

If you have stores in your community that sell pornographic videos, call your local law enforcement and ask them to enforce the Ohio Obscenity Law, ORC 2907.32. If a strip bar is located in your community, ask local law enforcement to enforce the Community Defense Act, ORC 2907.40.
