PRO-LIFE PRO-NATURAL MARRIAGE CANDIDATES SWEEP ELECTIONS IN OHIO
All five state elected officials – Governor Kasich, Attorney General Mike DeWine, Auditor Dave Yost, Treasurer Josh Mandel, and Secretary of State Jon Husted – won by landslide margins. Their opponents, who made support for same-sex unions central to their campaigns, failed to receive more than the 38% support that same-sex unions received on the ballot in 2004 .
Governor Kasich’s opponent, Ed FitzGerald, only received 32% of the vote, and Mike DeWine’s challenger, David Pepper, only received 38% of the vote. Both FitzGerald and Pepper made support for abortion and same-sex unions a centerpiece of their campaigns.
The majority of the wins for Ohio House , Ohio Senate, U.S. House, and U.S. Senate were by Pro-Life Pro-Natural Marriage candidates. This story rang true across America. President Obama, who is pro-abortion and supports same-sex unions, had stated that his policies were on the ballot. The President’s policies were soundly defeated.
“The stronger the contrast in candidate values, the greater the win by the Pro-life / Pro-marriage candidate,” stated Charles Tassell.
